May 25th - June 6th, 2013

Hi Everyone,

We got a special treat the weekend before last when we found out Grandma Ensmenger and Grandma Betty was going to be in the area and could come meet us. It's been about two years since I saw them last, so it was great to spend some time together again. We drove down to the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte and spent the afternoon touring and talking.

Owen didn't last for the picture. Too much excitement for one day.

Strawberry season is now over. We went for the third and last time last week. I think we picked a total of almost 35 pounds of berries this season! That should do if for the next year, goodness!

Look how big our "Little Man" is getting! You can see that he starting to get more and more of his own look. He no longer looks like a copy-and-paste of Seth's baby pictures. If you ask me, I think he's looking more like the Shoemaker side.

He is so alert now and insists on being up where he can see what's going on in the world. He loves to watch Blake and Seth play and make noises. He just smiles and smiles at them.

We've had a lot of rainy days lately, so I thought I would post some pictures of Blake and Seth's indoor activities.

Here's Seth taking his animals to the grocery store. Can you see the bin he put under the horse? Yup, they went to the store then to the office to "make some sales" like Daddy. :)

I think his nose is what's looking more Shoemaker-ish.

Owen is reaching for and playing with toys now although, it still takes a bit of concentration to get his hands to do what he wants them to.

Joy and Kate have asked me what I think is unique about Owen. One thing I'm noticing is that Owen seems to be more dramatic and expressive. When he cries he makes the most pitiful face you've ever seen and when he smiles his whole face lights up.

See how pitiful?  :(

Well, I was trying to remember some Blake and Seth-isms from the past two weeks. But, here's  couple...

Blake as been making up words of his own lately. Sometimes I wonder if he thinks that we are just making up the words we are teaching him. He asked me this morning, "Mommy, do you know what gooba means?" Me- "Nope, sure don't" Blake- "It means, negatory"   Alllrighty, then.

I was telling the boys the other day about when I was a little girl and Blake said "Oh yeah, I remember that". After I explained to him that he couldn't have remembered it because I was still little and hadn't had him yet. He said, "Was I in Aunt Kate's belly because you were too little to have me?"   :) Oh dear, we have a long ways to go.

We are enjoying our summer so far of get-togethers, working around the house and, for the boys, getting to go to the train park has been a highlight. Hope you all are enjoying your summer too!

Love you all,

Kari, Micah, Blake, Seth and Owen
