It's been three weeks since our last post, but it feels like it's been even longer. Here's what we've been up to...
Took a quick trip on March 22nd to visit "Big Nana" (Micah's Grandmother) in Winston Salem. Had a great time!
Blake trying to look innocent. :)
He just blends right in, doesn't he?
Owen has been dubbed the "gruntiest" baby we've had so far. He likes to make noises throughout the night in his sleep that sound like a little piggy. :) Thank goodness for earplugs!
The boys beg me every meal if they can help. Most of the time, I just let them help set the table because "help" usually means more mess and more work for me, but one night they got to help cut up some bell peppers. They felt like big boys getting to use "knives" even though they were dull butter knives.
I love this picture. Owen is by far our smiliest baby too. He smiles easily and loves to be talked to.
Owen is the only one with clean feet.
Easter Sunday we had Owen's baby dedication. The elders prayed for him we publicly dedicated him to the Lord and to whatever He has in store for him. We pray that he will give his life to the Lord at a young age and be used by God to bring others to Christ.
The boys were excited to wear "ties like Daddy" with their Easter outfits.
Had a nice lunch together with the Fox family and some of the Shoemaker family. Can you see Owen in this picture?
It was so muddy out that we did the East egg hunt inside the church. The boys made out like bandits and came home with waaaay too much candy! :)
Sorting their booty. Candy jar got filled to the brim. Piggy banks at the ready to stow away the many coins they extracted from the eggs.
See how fast Owen is growing!! These were taken yesterday. Blake does a good job with him.
Blake has been asking questions about numbers lately, like "What is three plus three?". He has figured out how to use his fingers to add small numbers. For example, he holds up three fingers on each hand and then puts his hands together and counts up to six. He's a smart little fella! Pretty good at figuring out how to talk his way out of trouble too. ;)
Whoa! Falling over...
I took Owen with me last weekend to our church's annual women's retreat at Holden Beach. It was four very refreshing and spiritually uplifting days! Owen got to be held the WHOLE time and was passed around like a little hot potato. He cried more in the one hour that we were back home than he did the entire weekend. Can't help but get just a little spoiled when there's 45+ women willing to hold you all day! :)
Latest Blake/Seth-isms...
Seth-"If you eat too much you will get a stummy ache!"
Today the boys were driving their truck while I was doing some yard work. Seth climbed into the truck and told Blake "Bye! I'm leaving and I'm going on a date. See you later!" I asked Seth who was going with him on his date, but said he's going by himself. :)
The boys are using their imagination more lately and I overheard them calling each other by their imaginary names. Seth was "Jesse" and Blake was "Darren". :)
I think that's about all the news from around here. Hopefully, it won't be another three weeks before we send more.
Love to you all!
Kari, Micah, Blake, Seth and Owen
Love this, Kari! Give little "Jesse" and "Darren" a hug for me. :) Beautiful pictures of the boys and Owen. It was nice to see Big Nana, too.
