It's A Boy!

It’s A Boy!

As most of you have already heard, we are overjoyed that little Owen Timothy arrived at 10:38am on February 27th and we have been in baby heaven since! We feel incredibly blessed that God would give us another healthy little boy.

It was a special moment when Blake and Seth got to meet Owen for the first time. We brought them into the hospital room and said “Where’s the baby?” Seth started looking up at the ceiling for the baby. They were so excited that night. Very hyper! They play with him for a few minutes at a time and then run off the to the next thing, but they love him very much.

I cannot believe we’ve had Owen with us for a whole week already. Proof that we’ve officially entered the baby-time-warp. The next few months are going to fly by! He is just so sweet. I could spend all day just holding him and staring at him. Well, I pretty much have been. Micah took a week off of work to help me out at home and let me rest. He went back to work on Wednesday and so far (with some much appreciated babysitting help) the past two days have gone pretty smoothly with three kiddos at home. We’ve been taking it easy and not pushing too hard to get into a schedule just yet. Simply enjoying each day with Owen.

 Big yawns!

Owen means "Youth" and Timothy means "One who honors God". It's our prayer that he will be known even as a young man as someone who honors God with his life.

I can't get over how teeny he is.

Blake graciously shared his ducky with Owen.

 See how tiny he is?

The Three Amigos. Did I mention how tiny Owen is? And I thought Seth was small...

One week old! I know they say newborns can't smile, but Owen does!

 See? Definitely smiling here...  :)

Thanks for all your prayers over the pregnancy over the past months. We are so grateful for a safe delivery and perfect little one.

When I told Seth not to put his fingers in Owen's mouth, he got a very concerned look on his face and said, "Will he bite me?"  :)

I think if I had a little more sleep I could think of some other Blake and Seth funnies, but I'll post more later.

Hope you all are doing well!

Kari, Micah, Blake, Seth AND Owen,     :)

Feb. 1st - 14th, 2013

Hi Everyone,

Happy Valentine's Day! I woke up this morning to a lovely breakfast and a dozen red roses on the table. Micah is so wonderful!

Three weeks and two days until our due date and it can't come soon enough. We've been working on making some changes in the boys' room to get ready for Baby and I think we are just about finished.

Here's a picture we sent Jonathan at boot camp. Actually, I think I sent him the version where Seth was smiling. We have received two letters from Bro so far. Sounds like he is doing very well. He has been given quite a lot of responsibility over the men in his division and it sounds like he's handling it well.

 Story time with Blake. :)

The "before" picture of the closet. I often thank the Lord that I married a man who knows so much about working on and maintaining a house. The first thing we did was take off the closet doors as they were rarely used and only took up space.

Seth helping saw the drawers. You can see the evidence in this picture of where he had a run-in with the coffee table last week. Poor guy had a fat lip for several days. I have  feeling he is going to be the child that brings us to the emergency room first.

Built-in drawers removed and ready to paint.

 After  :) Ready for curtains!

Making bread with Seth. We usually make four loaves about every other week or so. The boys like to see how much the bread has "grown" in the oven after rising.

We made the boys their own pillow cases for their new bed. They are quite pleased to have "big boy pillows" now.

Hope you all are doing well!

Love,

Kari
