March 9th-21st, 2013

Hi Everyone,

Greetings from Baby Land! Mid-night feedings and diaper changes seem to make the days run together lately but, we are making progress and getting closer to a consistent schedule. Our little Owen is getting bigger every minute. Really!

Last weekend the weather was so nice that we decided to venture out for the first time as a family of five. Here's Owen all dressed to go.

Blake and Seth chasing the local wildlife. Actually, Oscar is just playing with the boys. He likes to randomly take off running when the boys are playing in the yard.

Stopping for a tune-up.

Silly faces.

Blake likes to hold Owen the most. See Owen's face in this picture? This was about a week ago, you'll see his face change quite a bite compared to the pictures I took today.

Last week's pictures.

Still smilin' :)

I LOVE his little toes!

Joining the gang for story time

Apparently, Oscar has a thing for house plants  :(

First bath!

This was just a few days ago. See how he's filled out?

Seth making his "nice" face

I took these last three pictures today. See how much chubbier his cheeks are?

He has gained over 2 pounds since birth.

One more smile for ya!

Things are going well. Blake and Seth will ask to hold Owen for a few seconds and then they're off to go play. Seth asks occasionally if Owen can walk and talk yet, so I think they will be more interested in him when he is more interactive.

We had a few clementines last week that they boys had with their lunches. One day Seth couldn't remember the name of them so he said, "I think it's a lemontine".

When talking about our dinner the other night, Blake announced, "Seth can eat it because it has gluten-free in it!".

Building towers and castles with legos is now called, "Castling". Of course!

The boys are getting into pretending to be this or that. Seth is often a "Good Bad Guy" or "Hammerman" or "Jumping Man" and quite often pretending to be a kitty.

In other news...Jonathan graduates TOMORROW from Recruit Training and will officially be a Navy Sailor! He passed all his exams last week and he said he has never been so glad to graduate from anything before. Dad, Scott, Will and a friend are all driving up today to attend the ceremony in Great Lakes. We are so proud of him! I believe Jonathan will then be flying out on Saturday to A School in Pensecola, FL where he will be for several months. We are really looking forward to getting to Skype him and talk to him more frequently.

Micah has been very busy with work lately. Which is a great thing when you are in sales! The business of 14 or so employees is continuing to grow rapidly and do well. They are currently looking for a new location as they have almost grown out of their current building.

The boys ask almost everyday if it's summer yet because they know the little train at the City Park will be up and running then. We've had a few warm days and the daffodils and trees are all out in bloom. One of my favorite times of the year!

Hope you all are doing well!

Love,

Kari, Micah, Blake, Seth and Owen

It's A Boy!

It’s A Boy!

As most of you have already heard, we are overjoyed that little Owen Timothy arrived at 10:38am on February 27th and we have been in baby heaven since! We feel incredibly blessed that God would give us another healthy little boy.

It was a special moment when Blake and Seth got to meet Owen for the first time. We brought them into the hospital room and said “Where’s the baby?” Seth started looking up at the ceiling for the baby. They were so excited that night. Very hyper! They play with him for a few minutes at a time and then run off the to the next thing, but they love him very much.

I cannot believe we’ve had Owen with us for a whole week already. Proof that we’ve officially entered the baby-time-warp. The next few months are going to fly by! He is just so sweet. I could spend all day just holding him and staring at him. Well, I pretty much have been. Micah took a week off of work to help me out at home and let me rest. He went back to work on Wednesday and so far (with some much appreciated babysitting help) the past two days have gone pretty smoothly with three kiddos at home. We’ve been taking it easy and not pushing too hard to get into a schedule just yet. Simply enjoying each day with Owen.

 Big yawns!

Owen means "Youth" and Timothy means "One who honors God". It's our prayer that he will be known even as a young man as someone who honors God with his life.

I can't get over how teeny he is.

Blake graciously shared his ducky with Owen.

 See how tiny he is?

The Three Amigos. Did I mention how tiny Owen is? And I thought Seth was small...

One week old! I know they say newborns can't smile, but Owen does!

 See? Definitely smiling here...  :)

Thanks for all your prayers over the pregnancy over the past months. We are so grateful for a safe delivery and perfect little one.

When I told Seth not to put his fingers in Owen's mouth, he got a very concerned look on his face and said, "Will he bite me?"  :)

I think if I had a little more sleep I could think of some other Blake and Seth funnies, but I'll post more later.

Hope you all are doing well!

Kari, Micah, Blake, Seth AND Owen,     :)
